{PEPTALK} WHO IS SHOWING UP FOR YOU?

Here we are… more than halfway through January… how are you feeling about these first few weeks of the new year?
Maybe these first few weeks didn’t go quite as you planned when dreaming of 2022 resolutions and goals?
That is okay.
Your goals do not begin or end with the turn of a calendar page.
Every single day you have the opportunity to show up and make better choices for you and your life.
Any day can be your Day 1.
We don’t get a do OVER – every day, though, we do get a do BETTER.
I promise you… a healthier you is a better you in ALL the things.
Parent Life. Work Life. Married Life. Friend Life.
This question has been rolling around in my head for a while >> What have we done in this country that has made people feel that health & fitness is so hard and inaccessible?
Because it doesn’t have to be.
Taking care of yourself, this one body, this one life… shouldn’t feel like a chore.
Better health is a choice most of us can make every day.
Small habits, small ways, small choices.
Health & fitness can be simple.
It IS simple – when you create simple habits in your routine that can carry you throughout life – no matter where you are or what is going on.
To keep it simple, here are my 5 Fit Tips:
>> The No Snooze Challenge. The snooze button is heinous for your brain, for your body, for your mindset. If you're hitting snooze on your alarm, you're hitting snooze on your life. If you’re not excited about getting up for your life, maybe you need to think about creating a different life. There is such a statement happening when you hit the snooze button.
>> Hydration. Almost EVERYTHING is affected by our levels of hydration. It is the most simple and inexpensive habit we can have, to drink more water. Challenge >> drink 100 ounces of water per day, or take your body weight, divide it in half, and those are your ounces. Hydration leads to success in every health and fitness endeavor.
>> Morning Routine. Your morning routine is what you step into after you haven’t hit snooze. The key to setting up your morning routine is answering this question >> how do you want to feel on the other side of it? I want to feel calm, confident and productive. Align your morning routine with how you want to feel. I believe if you string together intentional mornings, you’ll have an intentional day, and it will lead to an intentional life. Everything starts with the morning.
>> Some Is Better Than None. That is your new mantra for 2022. Let’s replace the words “work out” with the word “movement.” Some movement is better than none. How can you create more movement in ways that make you just feel good? How about being intentional with 20 minutes a day – THAT is commitment to movement you can do for the rest of your life! Yes, you can. Our bodies are made to move.
Habits forEVER, not just for now.
>> Don’t Let Your Mood Affect Your Momentum. The only magical thing that happens on January 1st is you making the decision that something magical is going to happen. You know when else you can do that? Any day. Any day can be your Day 1. We are no longer letting our mood dictate our momentum. We have it backwards. Stop waiting to FEEL like it before you just CHOOSE to do the thing. Nobody works out for the feeling before, and not very often do we work out for the feeling during. The feeling we get on the other side of the movement is what we tap into for the next day, and the day after that, and always! Everything is better on the other side of a good sweat!
I encourage you to choose YOU and choose habits that bring out the best version of you.
The calm, patient, confident, energized, “I totally got this” YOU.
That’s the YOU your family & your career needs most. That’s the YOU the world needs most.
You have what it takes. Make the choice and live your healthiest, best life yet!!
